December 18: Folktale of Toyland Plato understood it a long time ago: “You can discover more about a person in an hour of play than in a year of conversation.” This folk tale is an hour of musical fantasy that we offer, for kids of all ages, with music for, from and on toys – ‘play our way’ across America, l ‘Europe, Asia and Africa. From skipping rope songs and ring tossing games to new bikes and special music boxes, there is something in our musical toy box for everyone. We save you a place in the foreground and make sure to invite your inner child.

December 25: Tale of Santa Claus According to Charles W. Howard, founder of the oldest Santa Claus school in the world, “He is wrong in thinking that Santa Claus is coming in through the fireplace. Santa Claus enters through the heart. And it is with the heart that we lead our musical tour this week as we take a sleigh ride across the world in search of that happy old soul, in all of its happy old forms. Whether it’s Saint Nicholas, Father Christmas, Grandfather Frost or Viejo Pascuero, Father Christmas is definitely coming to town, this popular tale. With a little seasonal magic, we hope you can find a place for it in your heart.

December 31: Folktale of Karma As American author J. Earl explains: “Karma manifests Newton’s third law of motion in the arena of ethics. It would be that of having an equal and opposite reaction for every action – and this is the very cause and effect that we are following in the musical world, this edition. So be prepared to listen well to these ethically inspired observations as we travel through the Americas, Europe, and various points in the east, for, as we prepare to ring in the New Year and welcome 2022!

Friday Vibes with Bill Forsythe (Friday December 24 from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.)
