Chris Evans: Virgin Radio host says his wife is going to be “so bored” over birthday blunder | Celebrity News | Show biz & TV

Chris Evans, 54, was pleasantly surprised when he found out his Virgin Radio co-stars spoiled him on his birthday this year. The radio DJ turns 55 on April 1 and was surprised when Vassos Alexander, 46, revealed he bought him a pair of walking shoes he wanted, but noted that his wife Natasha was going to be “annoyed” that someone was beating her up to her.

During an on-air conversation, Chris was discussing how he asked Tash for the boots because he had decided he wasn’t going to afford a new pair.

“There is a pair of walking shoes,” he told his team, “I’m not buying myself anything this year!”

Vassos suddenly interrupted, saying sheepishly, “Tell him not to buy them from you.”

Chris was at first confused until his colleague’s laughter revealed it.

Elsewhere, Chris weighed in on Piers Morgan’s shocking departure from Good Morning Britain last week, admitting that while he disagreed with his brash broadcast style, he thought he was “interesting” and insisted that ITV’s news program wouldn’t be the same without him.

The 55-year-old outspoken presenter has resigned following a clash with meteorologist Alex Beresford, over his comments on Meghan Markle.

He received 41,000 complaints from Ofcom for his remarks on the Duchess of Sussex following his interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Piers said he “didn’t believe a word,” Meghan said as she discussed her life in the royal family, alongside her husband, Prince Harry.

Speaking on his show, Chris said, “Piers for me the way his broadcast was always going to run out of steam on GMB and it was only a matter of time.

“I think he must have signed a new contact and I think it happened before he assumed it.

“He’s got into this story – he’s on the front page!”

He added, “I don’t agree with the way Piers broadcasts most of the time, but I just think it’s an interesting story.”

Chris went on to say that Piers was “very welcome” to come on his show to discuss his departure and plans for the future, having previously hinted to the ITV star that the airwaves might call him. .

The Chris Evans Breakfast Show airs weekdays at 6 a.m. on Virgin Radio.
