Mountain Grove, Mo. The Mountain Grove Heritage Festival is proud to announce, in concert, the Liverpool Legends! This concert will be on the Mtn. Place du bosquet and will be free and open to the public.
On Friday, August 12, at 6 p.m., these four guys will open the Heritage Festival with the classic sounds of the Beatles’ greatest hits. The Beatles broke new ground by incorporating symphonic music, traditional pop, folk-rock, jazz and other genres, creating an unprecedented style and sound. The Liverpool legends have toured the world, including two sold-out shows in Mexico City, performed at Carnegie Hall and headlined the Rose Bowl four times. They have had their own show in Branson since 2005 and have won Best Show, Best Group and received the prestigious Visitor’s Choice Award for Entertainer of the Year.
The theme of this year’s festival is “Trains, Airplanes and Vintage Motorcycles” recognizing the critical role these forms of transport played in the burgeoning Industrial Revolution of the late 1800s and early 1900s. It was a time filled of excitement, new beginnings and progress.
On Saturday, August 13, check out the model train exhibits at the West Plains Model Railroad Club. Plans are underway to have a real BNSF engine on site for tours. Attend a “fly-in” at Mtn. Grove Municipal Airport featuring full-size and remote-controlled aircraft. Marvel at antique motorcycles on display by the St. Louis Gateway Chapter and Kansas City Santa Fe Trail Chapter of the Antique Motorcycle Club of America.
In addition to vintage trains, planes, and motorcycles, enjoy music throughout the day on Saturday, including performances by The Whetstone Band, The Baker Family, and Stringed Union, a quilt show at The Loft, and browse over 175 craft, entertainment and food vendors.
