(LANGUAGE NOTE) Make a surprise appearance in front of another comic Dave chappelle Sunday night in New York, Chris rock joked about his recent battle with COVID-19.

The pair appeared at the musician Robert glasperResidence “Robtober” at the legendary Blue Note Jazz Club, according to Sixth page.

“I am coming from the dead! Rock told the audience. “I had a fucking COVID. Divinize it. ”

rock tweeted last month that he had tested positive for the virus, urging fans to get vaccinated. On stage, he joked: “It wasn’t as hard as being black, but it was close … that’s why everyone tries to avoid it …”

Rock and Chappelle, who have also recovered from COVID-19, mentioned where the vaccinated Rock may have been infected. “I think I got that in that civil rights movie,” noted Rock, to which Chappelle replied, “It’s a noble way to get COVID.”

The film in question could be a director David O. Russellthe as-yet-untitled film Rock will appear in with a number of A-list stars including Robert de niro, Christian Bale and John David Washington.

Sixth page says the famous comics were also joined at the Blue Note by actors Jeffrey wright and Harper Hill. Recording artist Talib Kweli, who was celebrating her birthday, also joined Rock and Chappelle on stage.

Later, the stars took to the Stand Comedy Club, to continue the birthday festivities, with SNL‘s Michel Che, Busta Rhymes and Kanye west, the latter whose publication noted presented itself without any security.

Kweli posted a snap with West, Chappelle and Glasper, noting: “The birthday party was magical… legendary night… thank you.”
