Lithuania pinned its hopes on Eurovision glory to a beloved star of their country – the famous singer Monika Liu.
Monika will fly to Turin in Italy hopes to take the stage on Saturday May 14 in the Grand Final. But she must first convince the voters during the semi-final of the competition.
However, Lithuanians are hoping it will be a walk in the park for the already established star, who has even had judging spots on shows like The Masked Singer and The Voice.

Who represents Lithuania at Eurovision 2022?
Name: Monika Liu
Monika Liu, born Monika Liubinaitė in the coastal city of Klaipedais already a household name in his country.
Since 2004, when she was first noticed on a Lithuanian talent show, Monika has been working steadily and already has three hit albums and many fans delighted that she is carrying the flag for them at Eurovision.
The singer, who studied jazz in a Klaipeda University before heading to Berkeley College of Music in Boston, also recently appeared as a judge on the Lithuanian versions of The Voice and The Masked Singer.
What is the name of the Lithuanian song for Eurovision 2022?
Monika’s track is called “Sentimentai” – a retro-sounding pop song that was recorded in London.
Many said Monika’s voice was like Icelandic singer Bjork, with ‘Sentimentai’ only draws more comparisons.
It is also only the second time in Lithuania’s Eurovision history that the song does not contain English lyrics and is sung in Lithuanian throughout.
Where did Lithuania end up in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021?
Last year was an exciting time for Lithuania at Eurovision as they achieved their second best result since entering the competition in 1994.
Alternative rock band The Roop performed their popular track ‘Discoteque’ and wowed countries around the world, as it was announced at number 8.
When is Eurovision 2022?
The Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled for Saturday May 14, 2022.
It will take place from Italy’s Pala Olimpico Arena in Turin, with viewers able to watch all the performances on BBC One.
You can also have some early fun by tuning in to the two semi-finals on BBC Three. The first takes place on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, with another on Thursday, May 12, 2022.
